If you prefer a drink that will break the sweetness of the dessert, bet on refreshing lemonade. Contrary to appearances, it does not have to be a traditional drink made of lemons. You can prepare it using watermelon or rhubarb and strawberries. However, if you prefer lemonade with lemons, you can vary its taste by adding herbs – mint, thyme, basil, lemon balm, rosemary and sage. This combination will certainly go well with sweeter desserts.
If you have the opportunity, try to make your own alcohol to serve with dessert. It will certainly be a nice surprise for your guests and the taste may be better than the alcohol bought in a store. A great option would be a homemade liqueur, such as coffee liqueur or fudge liqueur. Other drinks that you can serve can be fruit liqueurs or homemade ajerkoniak.
As a healthy addition to the dessert can be used various types of cocktails. Here, too, the field of possibilities is very large, because you can combine fruits and vegetables in any way you want. The only thing you need to prepare them is a blender. Opt for strawberries, kiwi, banana or watermelon if you want to prepare a refreshing smoothie. If you prefer milk smoothies, add milk or natural yoghurt to the fruit. The great thing about smoothies is that you can add many other ingredients to them, such as bran, seeds or nuts.
Who of us does not remember the taste of the favorite compote from childhood? Don’t give it up and serve it with the dessert you are preparing. You can experiment with spices, trying to find a new, perfect taste.
Especially now, when the temperature is very high, cold drinks are ideal. But not only in summer, you can serve iced tea with dessert. You can also add a handful of your favourite fruit to the tea – raspberries, blueberries or blueberries.
